About Me

Iran is my love, my inspiration, my life ...

I was born on February 3, 1984 in Tehran, Iran. After five years spent at home I attended Sara kindergarten and at the age of 7 went to Shahid Dastgheib elementary school located at Gandhi street in Tehran. From an early age I was fascinated with flight and aviation, an obsession which I still hold. My post elementary education continued at Omid middle school and after finishing the 7th grade I left Iran at the age of 13 and moved to Canada with my family. Leaving my homeland was one of the hardest things I had to adjust to along with learning a new language and finding new friends. From early on, I knew that my stay in Canada would be temporary and I vowed to myself that I will one day return to Iran after finishing my undergraduate studies in the west.
Since I disliked people who lost their identity as a result of moving to a new environment, I fiercely sought to remain Iranian and worked hard to attain my knowledge of the Persian language as well as expand my knowledge of my homeland's history, culture, and traditions. I attended Mentor College in Mississauga, Ontario for the remaining of my high school education and received my diploma from this institute.

After careful study of my choices for possible fields of study I decided to attend Carleton University in Ottawa and enrol in the Mechanical Engineering program offered there. After moving from to my new home at the university students' residence I experienced many ups and downs like any university student and found amazing friends whom I roomed with for the remaining of the time I studied in Ottawa. At the start of the second year of my undergraduate studies I decided to start a community for Iranian students at Carleton University and therefore with the help of other passionate Iranians, the Iranian Students Association of Carleton University was born and it reached a membership of 500 within a year. I served as the club's president during its first year of operation and worked hard along with other executive members to turn the new born association into a culturally informative base for Iranians and interested non-Iranians at Carleton and the city of Ottawa.

After my third year of studies at Carleton, I decided to stay for an extra year and get a minor in Political Science as politics had become one of my obsessions during the past few years. In my Political Science courses I expanded my skills in critical thinking and it helped shape my understanding of my surroundings and the world in general. I finished my undergraduate studies in May of 2008.

To fulfil my childhood interest in flight and aviation I attended a piloting course at Brampton Flying Club in the autumn of 2008 and on November 6, 2008 I acted on my promise of returning to my homeland of Iran and spending my energy and efforts in my own country and do my small part in building an independent, modern, powerful, and free Iran.
